The STEM Sisters Initiative incorporates a number of different programs:
Government House (9/2/18)
Thirty-three year 10 students from Baw Baw and Latrobe secondary schools recently enjoyed a visit to Government House for “The Royal Women’s Hospital: 2018 Meet a Scientist Day”
BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge
Fourteen student teams from across Gippsland are participating in the twelve week BrainSTEM Innovation Challenge. A university academic, who specialises in the STEM field, will be partnered with a student team to develop a STEM innovation with a real-world application
STEM Sisters Year 10 Program
Seventy-two students from across Gippsland will be involved in this yearlong program. Students will enjoy several Industry visits, an Inspiring dinner and a hands-on experience day at Federation University and Gippsland Tech School.
STEM Sisters Ambassador Program
STEM Sister Ambassadors are volunteers who are passionate about their careers, their organisation or STEM Background. They will volunteer their time and support to promote STEM in a variety of ways: via tours, attending events or supporting teachers in the classroom.
Ecolinc Tour
Forty Year 9 students from Baw Baw and Latrobe secondary schools will enjoy a day out at the “Emerging STEM for Women Program” hosted at Ecolinc Science & Technology Centre in Bacchus Marsh. The day will involve guest speakers from Industry and hands-on workshops.
