Medical Student

Hi my name is Rachel and I am a student doctor studying with Monash University.
From a young age, I dreamed of becoming a doctor. During high school I really enjoyed studying sciences and english. Before beginning my medical school journey, I completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science in Clayton and had the opportunity to learn participate in some medical research. During this time I was also able to present a research project proposal regarding a women's health topic at the International Conference for Undergraduate Research. After 3 years of studying, I graduated and was accepted into Monash University's School of Rural Health Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine program. I am halfway through my training and currently have a strong interest in women's health, however I would still like to incorporate my research background into whatever I do as a qualified doctor. I am passionate about all things rural health, and really would like other young people from Gippsland see science and medicine as wonderful career pathways.
